Japanese Maple Leaf

All the talk of Japanese photography and The Seven Samurai in the previous post made me want to go out and photograph this Japanese maple leaf on fresh snow.

I have seen a couple translations of this poem online. I like this one better:

In evening twilight
I ascend Mount Kugami.
Voices of bellowing deer
are muted by carpets of
maple leaves that have
fallen quietly.
