Beautiful! We were up in the small hours too and took some similar shots - it always makes me think I should always get up early . . .

The perfect subject for black and white.
Greetings from Earth! LOL! Nice shot of the moon! May I know what camera you used to take this gorgeous shot? Please visit my entry at http://prettyfirefly.com
The second shot is amazing...With this now being 30 years since Neil Armstrong's trip to the moon...ooops: 1969 I remember it, i was in my very late teens....:-/
I love the last one! All dark and then the light from the moon contrasting it.
The first one is a little erie... can almost hear the howl in the background!Great shots!Karla & Karrie
jabblog-having a puppy who gets up early provides lots of photo opsAnne-Keep trying.Aileni-Thanks. Words are inadequate.Anna-Thanks. You too.RunE-Thanks for the internal rhyme.James-Thanks. Yes, B&W seemed a good fit.prettyfirefly-I use a Nikon D90. For these shots I used a Sigma 150-500mm telephoto lens.Dina-I was a teenager when Armstrong walked on the moon. 30 yrs., 40 yrs.--it's all the same.Dagrun-Thanks. For the second pic I processed to accentuate the contrast. The sky was bluer than that, as seen in the first photo.Summer Kitchen Girls-I'm sprouting hair in new places. Is it because I'm becoming a senior citizen, or because of the moon?
I really enjoyed the last one, nice in b&w
Very nice capture. You must have one of those high zoom cameras. Awesome shot!
Very dramatic photographs. The moon is a perfect subject for monochromatic photographs.Wishing you a scent-sational day!Patty
A difficult shot unless you have a really big lens, which most of us mere mortals don't. Nicely done.
Totally excellent. I have never taken a good moon shot.
