This week's entry for Shadow Shot Sunday and Monochrome Maniacs: A through-the-viewfinder (TTV) picture of a small plastic toy rooster illuminated by a flashlight.
A great shadow shot and a great TtV! Isn't TtV-ing fun? I think the technique really lends itself well to shooting toys. Which then gives us a good excuse to get the toys out and have a play ;D
Thanks to all. I found this little rooster in a box of my old toys my mother saved. As to Michael's question, I don't know if Chanticleer appeared in Watership Down, but he has been a character in ancient fable, as well as in Chaucer's Canterbury Tales and (as Chauntecleer) in Walter Wangerin Jr's The Book of the Dun Cow.

great idea to use a flashlight for very cool shadows!
Really terrific shot and clever use of the flashlight! Great idea, indeed! I'm going to have to try that one!

Do I correctly remember a Chanticleer from Watership Down? Your photo brought it to mind...
Simple and elegant composition
What a clever idea David...
Chanticleer crowing,
boasting and besting every
encroaching shadow…
Nice one.

I love this...for me this is an art photo..

I love it - it looks like he's on stage, belting one out for the audience!
