More Michigan Birds

Before reformatting the memory card, I went through the pictures I took along the Lake Michigan shore a couple weeks ago. With the help of a bird field guide, I was able to identify a Tennessee warbler that had stopped during its migration. I also saved a few more pictures of the scarlet tanager, plus a couple other birds.

Thanks for posting this! I've been seeing a Tennessee warbler perching on my deck this week, but I didn't know what it was until I saw your photo. I sure hope the redstarts and tanagers show up here too. I've never seen either one.

The bill of that downy is so long. Maybe it's the angle, but it sort of looked more hairy woodpeckerish... But it must be the angle.. Now I am making up words..I am off to sleep..

Michelle,
I'm no expert, but to me the bill doesn't look as long as the hairy woodpecker in the field guide. Also, in person, it was a small bird.
